Why I Started Love Waterhouse Painters

Why I Started Love Waterhouse Painters

People sometimes ask me why I called the business Love Waterhouse Painters. It is a bit of a story, so let me share it.

I was born in Falevai, which is an island in Tonga. In English, fale means house and vai means water. So Falevai translates to Waterhouse. It is the name of my home island, and it is where my roots are.

When I was 18, I started painting in the South Island of New Zealand. I was young, keen to work, and I just got stuck in. I have been painting ever since — houses, commercial buildings, everything. I have never looked back.

When it came time to name my own business, I wanted something that meant something to me. Waterhouse connects me to where I come from. But there is more to it than that.

Think about it — water and house. That is exactly what I do. I paint houses and I pressure wash them. The name literally describes the work. And the love part — that is about how I feel about looking after people's homes. Your home is your biggest asset, and I treat it like it is my own.

My old man taught me the values I bring to every job: turn up early, work hard, and leave it better than you found it. That is the Pacific Island work ethic. It is not complicated, but it is honest, and it is what customers deserve.

I started Love Waterhouse Painters because I was tired of seeing homeowners get let down by tradespeople who did not show up, did not communicate, and did not care. I wanted to build something different — a painting business where the customer actually comes first.

That is why we offer free smart estimates, free colour consultations, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not happy, we redo it. Simple as that.

So that is the story. A boy from Falevai, Tonga, who started painting at 18 and never stopped. Now serving Auckland homes and businesses with the same values my father taught me.

If you want a painter who will actually turn up and do the job right, give us a call or get a free estimate on our homepage. I would be proud to look after your home.
